Nonprofit governing Board & Leadership webinar

Ready to LEAD

Ready to LEAD is a webinar consists of two four-hour sessions.  The webinar is designed prepare attendees for effective nonprofit governing board member service, and is ideal for individuals with little or no prior board member experience.

Production and evaluation of the Ready to LEAD webinar was made possible through a generous grant from the Amgen Foundation.

Webinar attendees learn about various practical topics, including nonprofit sector history and its impact on U.S. society, nonprofit governance principles, and the role of the nonprofit sector in Latino community affairs.  Guest speakers share their experience in successfully navigating the board member selection process, serving on governing boards, and how to tactfully leverage board networks.  Webinar participants receive information to support their ongoing independent learning, including advanced   leadership development and nonprofit management training, and links to other resources and research findings.  Webinar participants are encouraged to serve as leaders at Latino-led community-based organizations—leveraging the experience and networks they acquire through governing board service.
