A board that does not look like its community is not likely to understand that community’s needs. Not enough Hispanics have reached positions of power and have yet to serve as role models for others in their communities.. In 25 years, Hispanics are projected by demographers toreach nearly 50 percent. And yet the power of Hispanics has long lagged behind that of other minorities.
